‘Baght’ or ‘Contemplation’

’Baght’ is one of two of my paintings entitled ‘Contemplation’. How delighted I was to discover that there are two words for contemplation in Manx! This painting has been part of my journey into realising just quite how much my work is an emotional response to how I feel living here on the Isle of Man. So many parts of the island are embedded in memory now and ‘Baght’ tells the story of how I sometimes perceive the weather as colours and the wind as texture. The layering of different media embeds how this place feels to me.
